SINTESIS FATTY ALKOHOL MELALUI REDUKSI METIL ESTER ASAM LEMAK MINYAK KELAPA YANG TERLEBIH DAHULU DIPISAHKAN SECARA FRAKSINASI
Abstract: Fatty Acids Methyl Esther (FAME) coconut oil can be produced from interesterification with methanol used by acid or base catalyst. Lauroyl alcohol, miristoyl alcohol, palmitoyl alcohol and caproyl alcohol have been synthesis with the yield of (65-75) % from methyl laurate, methyl miristate, methyl palmitate and methyl caprate throught sodium as reductor in methanol. Methyl laurate, methyl miristate, methyl palmitate and methyl caprate get from fractination of mixture fatty acids methyl esther coconut oil. Furification of lauroyl alcohol, miristoyl alcohol, palmitoyl alcohol and caproyl alcohol by hidrolised fatty acid methyl esther that can’t be reducted to be free fatty acid before separating fatty alcohol by fractinated destilation.
