INTERAKSI KALSIUM ALGINAT DENGAN ETANOLAMIN DALAM PEMBUATAN MEMBRAN
Abstract: Interaction between calcium alginate and ethanolamine was done by mixing sodium alginate solution with athanolamine which had been acidified to pH 5.4 in acetone and dried under vacuum. The result was immersed into 0.1 M CaCl2 solution, produced calcium alginate – ethanolamine membrane. The product was confirmed by FT IR spectroscopy, SEM and Tensile test. FT-IR spectrum did no show reactionof amidation in the system in which the wavelength of 1740 – 1630 cm-1 for C=O amide, 1530 cm-1 for –CON- and 1250 cm-1 for C-N was not found in the spectrum. Scanning Electron Micrograph showed different morphology of calcium alginate-ethanolamine membrane and calcium alginate membrane. Tensile test gave out value of load is 0.21 kgf, stroke is 7.48 mm/minute and % elongation is 5.26%.
