ABSTRACT: The research about validation of visible spectrophotometry method to analyze formalin in tofu had been carried out. The aim of this research was to determine several validation parameters such as precision, linearity, accuracy, Limit of detection (LOD) and Limit of quantification (LOQ). Formalin was added Nash reagent then detected using spectrophotometer at wave length 412 nm.The results of the research showed that validation parameters values for accuracy was 102,84%; standard deviation value for formalin was 1,198%; linearity value for formalin was 0,9994; LOD was 0,0375 μg/mL and LOQ was 0,1250 μg/mL, respectively. Due to the result of the research, visible spectrophotometry method to analyze formalin in tofu was valid.
